Jack Thatcher King Obituary

Jack T. King
Jack T. King, 81, died February 23, 1991. He was born in Topeka, Kansas on April 1, 1909. Mr. King was a Civil Service employee for 37 for the Military Sea Transport Service. He was with the Pacific Sea Command during WWII and the Korean Conflict, and retired as Port Engineer in Oakland, California. After his retirement he made his home in Tahuya, Mason County, Washington. He was active in the Tahuya Port Commission and served as Assistant Fire Chief for the Tahuya Fire Department for 15 years. He had recently moved to Tacoma.

He is survived by his wife, Irmgard; sons, Jack E. King, Sumner, Jon King, Lake ALmonor, Calif., James A. Swanson, Tacoma; daughter, Janet Tarver, Eugene, Oregon; four grandchildren, Tanya Boyle, Alicia Marshall, Calif., John Swanson, Pamela Baker, Tacoma; great granddaughter, Bettina Baker, Tacoma; and great grandson, Cameron Boyle, Calif.

At Mr. King's request, no services are scheduled. Unurnment, New Tacoma Cemetery. Arrangements by New Tacoma Cemeteries and Funeral Home.
